Jesus' Death> The Greatest Love Story

Just imagine the love of one man being so strong and great that He would do the most unimaginable thing for you to be saved. He did. He sent His only son to save you from anything that the world might bring upon you. But the task of His son saving you was not an easy one. His son, Jesus, had to die the most embarrassing death of them all, the death of a thief and the death of a murderer. He was sentenced to die on a cross. His body was mutilated after being struck many times by several whips. For example, one whip had nine straps on it with pieces of glass, bone, and rock tied on the ends. These ends of the whip would stick in His back, and then it would be pulled, ripping His skin right off His back. His body was so disfigured that His flesh would be hanging off His body in strips and you could see His bones. After His body was mutilated and disfigured, He had to carry His own cross that He died on most of the way up the mountain. They then hung Him on the cross and struck a spear through His side. There He hung between two criminals, with a crown of thorns on His head, which was pressed firmly into His brow, and a spear in His side. During all of this, He was mocked, yelled and screamed at, and spit on. He did all of this to save you. This is the greatest love story of all time.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son..."

John 3:16 (KJV)

Chapter one talked about Jesus growing up. I thought it was weird how his friends were around Him for thrity years and He didn't really show many signs of being very holy and religious. He was more concerned about his father, but he never was afraid to have a good time at party's. I liked chapter two. He talked about how you don't have to be perfect to be saved. All you have to do is love. Jesus gives many examples of how if we commit sins and still love, God still loves and accepts us. Chapter two also talked about why people liked Jesus. He was laid back and didn't force his followers to accept outrageous laws like many of the pharisees did. Chapter three was mostly about the laws of the church. It talked about how the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. We need to learn how to do good acts and love instead of not loving and just keeping strict laws. In chapter four the author talked about how Jesus was very laid back and went to many parties. He talked to many sinners like Zacchaeus and his friends. It was the religious leaders who was giving Jesus his bad name, not samaritans. It also talked about marriage and divorce in the church and how a long time ago it was illegal to divorce and many people like us.It helps me talk and pray to him easier. It shows how subtle and humourous God can sometimes be In conclusion I really liked this book. About how Jesus came to Earth for a purpose. Chapter six talked about Jesus' relationship inside of us. We all need to have a deep relationship wth God and take time out of our day to talk to him. I agree that Jesus did not leave earth until his mission was complete. I agreed with most of what the author said. Our sociey also needs to watch how we punish criminals. Jesus loves us and wants us to follow him. I did like how he said that many Christians are more concerned about avoiding hell than drawing themselves close to God. We as older people of the church need to teach kids at a young age about the church and God. We should always choose to do the right thing.....

what is love...

Love, as defined by the dictionary, is strong affection and warm attachment for something. From this definition, one may stop and ask, "Does this truly define love?" In my opinion, it doesn't define it at all. No one can truly define love without the use of actions. Nothing can define it as closely as the true feeling of love can. Love is a feeling from the deepest reache.....

Love is the most thoughtful and most understanding feeling of all, because it involves an undying trust in someone. Questioning them before believing lies from others is not truly love. It symbolizes unselfishness, willingness, and total, complete devotion. There are hundreds of "definitions" for love, but none would ever explain the reality of it and how it affects mankind. It can neither be understood nor defined by mankind because of its deepness and purity. es of the soul, and from the most vast expressions of the heart. Waking up every new day, knowing that life is so complete because of that special someone is love. It's thinking about someone all day, not being able to get them off your mind. It is not an obsession, but love can develop into an obsession. Although I have not clearly defined love, I have arrived at a simple conclusion - love is God. Knowing what the person did by just “knowing” is love.................
